[...] (4) We’re surgeons and we look great everyday. Come on now. They’re surgeons. They should be getting no sleep. Yet, even at their most frazzled, they still look way better than we do on a good day. Especially those scrubs, which was discussed in this post. And then there’s Addison with her up-to-there high heels. So not practical. I’m already too tired now to put the extra effort into the walking-without-falling-over required to wear heels. I doubt I will be any less tired when it comes time for residency. Or even afterwards. At least not unless I have a cushy private practice where I only work four hours a day three days a week. Which will be in how many years, if I’m lucky? [...]

carachel2 - Ah! Now I have horrible images in my head of all those garishly patterned scrubs...

anng27 - Thanks for the suggestion...they look like they might fit, but they don't seem to come in the right color for my hospital. :(

I hate to be helpful after all that great whining, but...

Dickies. Hip Flip. Scrubs for tall skinny nurse-girls who want to show off their belly buttons. Or, back in reality, scrubs for shorter girls tired of wearing maternity gowns. I can't vouch for the pants, as Dickies petite pants are just fine for me. But if you want a slimmer cut scrub top, this is the place. http://www.allheart.com/hipflip.html

I'm in no way affiliated with AllHeart, but I love them forever for pointing me in the right direction after spending forever trying stuff on in their store.

If you are super-sized, you will have an easy time finding scrubs. For some reason the healthcare garment industry has made the assumption that all of us weight > 200 lbs and we also enjoy wearing garments with huge outrageous flower patterns, cartoon characters and holiday ornaments.
