mob rules (season 1, episode 15)

HOUSE: Need a lawyer.
VOGLER: Who’d you kill?
HOUSE: Nobody and it’s not even lunch.

I’m a doctor. I’m not a lapdog for the feds. I don’t play fetch.

Jail. You’d like that. No more naughty school girl. Conjugal visit—that’s her new fantasy.

Check for everything. The feds are paying. We’re gonna turn a profit on this one, boys.

He’s important to you. Got it. So no placebos for him. We’ll use the real medicine.

We’re a bit of a specialized hospital. We generally only deal with patients when they’re actually sick.

The neurologist thinks it’s his brain and wants to open up his head. Frankly, I’m shocked. And you get to use the big drill in daddy’s big red toolbox.

CHASE: Because the brother doesn’t want you to?
HOUSE: Or because he had an unexplained coma. Which sounds better?

But unless I’ve been named as the fourth part of the axis of evil, invaded and occupied, this is still not a democracy.

Old enough to drink, old enough to do something really stupid and make yourself a baby,

You get home one night. Your wife hits you with a baseball bat. Likely causes: The fact that you haven’t thanked her for dinner in eight years or the receipt for furry handcuffs that she found in your pants?

CHASE: Okay, and, uh why is her test better than mine.
HOUSE: Because she’s cuter, though it’s close.

But in the humor me department, get me a biopsy while you’re at it.

Those idiots. How many times do I have to send them to sensitivity training?

FOREMAN: Oh right. Your diabolic plan to convince the evil genius he’s in the clear so he’ll let his guard down and make a fatal mistake.
HOUSE: Well, it’s clearly not going to work now.
CHASE: What evil genius?
HOUSE: If we knew that, we wouldn’t need a diabolic plan, would we?

Keep him on the pig for a few more hours, take him off the candy and he’ll be fine. But the pig won’t be. Oh no.

CLINIC PATIENT: He’s not too smart.
HOUSE: Genetics is a powerful force.

That would be quite the trick: he slapped me so hard his brother turned straight.

  1. cane & able (season 3, episode 2)Yay! House is back to his "normal" self. Or at least more so. I don't think I would have been able to stand another episode of nice House. Is this an intervention? It’s a little late since I’m not using drugs anymore. I am however, still hooked on phonics. CUDDY: If you did your morning run and showered at home, you’d be later than usual. HOUSE: I thought of you in the shower. HOUSE: You’re a believer, aren’t you? CHASE: Well, I’m just not arrogant enough to think that of the 50 billion galaxies, hundred billion stars per galaxy, and ten million billion planets in the universe that we’re the only ones with life. HOUSE: No. But I’m guessing we’re the only ones who like shoving things through our back doors. Great. Did you do any of that medical stuff we talked about? CHASE: I didn’t screw up the test. HOUSE: So it’s UFO: unidentified flowing orifice. If you screwed up, I don’t have to cry myself to sleep. CHASE: Hey, Foreman, your momma’s so fat when her beeper goes off, people think she’s backin’ up. Tell me he’s a mutant human hybrid. Why don’t I have a high def in my office? I’m a department head. HOUSE: Foreman, you’ve got to steal this thing for me. FOREMAN: Let me ring up one of the homies. Who’s gonna take us seriously when we don’t have a laser pointer? That’s not an arrhythmia. That’s a no-rhythmia. Now get me those myocytes....
  2. three stories (season 1, episode 21)My favorite House episode so far. STACY: Did you think I wasn’t going to get married? HOUSE: Not to someone so poorly endowed. His pancreas is pathetic. I’m sure this goes against everything you’ve been taught, but right and wrong do exist. Just because you don’t know what the right answer is—maybe there’s even no way you could know what the right answer is—doesn’t make your answer right or even okay. It’s much simpler than that. It’s just plain wrong. If a guy can handle a rod in his penis for half an hour, then he’s really sick. Luckily it’s been well established that time is not a fixed construct. It is in the nature of medicine that you are going to screw up. You are going to kill someone. If you can’t handle that reality, pick another profession. Or finish medical school and teach. I like my leg. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember. The patient made the right choice. Tell a surgeon that it’s okay to cut a leg off and he’s gonna spend the night polishing his good hacksaw. 3. spin (season 2, episode 6)STACY: We need to talk. HOUSE: Oh god. Are you pregnant? Because I really want to finish high school. You know me. Hostility makes me shrink up like a…I can’t think of a non-sexual metaphor. MANAGER: We’ve got confidentiality, right? HOUSE: Assuming I’m more ethical than your client. Respiratory distress. And insanity doesn't cause it. I looked it up. CAMERON: We don’t make careers out of who can stay awake the longest. CHASE: Really? Ever been to oh, I don’t know, med school? [lol] I love when you do both sides of the conversation. It’s like white noise. It's very peaceful. WILSON: Is there a light somewhere that goes on when I have food? HOUSE: Green for food, orange for beverages, red for impure thoughts. That bulb burns out every two weeks. When you save someone’s life, they owe you forever. WILSON: Uh, Mark is in group therapy for people coping with disability. He was thinking about developing a drug addiction but that would be stupid. HOUSE: Hey! You’re…you again! What makes a guy start drooling? Chase, were you wearing your short shorts? HOUSE: Go forth and scan his neck. CHASE: His neck? HOUSE: Or repeat everything I say in question form.
